WebSep 20, 2024 · Subject: [S&B] Spindle bearings on Smart Brown 1024 Has anyone replaced spindle bearings or adjusted what s and B calls the distance piece which traps the spindle against the tapered bearings? If I push on a rod 4-6" out from either the chuck or 5C collet, I get .002 or a little more play which seems like too much. http://www.lathes.co.uk/smartbrown/page5.html
