Even though Dimarzio degauss-es the 36th's, they are still a brighter pickup that the Slash's. They are definitely a "clarity" style PAF. WebApr 28, 2013 · Mar 6, 2012. #9. I've had both over the years in a few guitars. To my ears, the 59's were always a bit mushy in the mids and fuzzy on the top end. I consistently thought the 36th's were much fatter and articulate. I'm not normally a Dimarzio guy, but I'd choose the 36th's over the 59's every time.
